Embakasi East Member of Parliament, Hon Babu Owino takes on nominated senator Isaac Mwaura for allegedly “disrespecting” the president.
Senator Mwaura hit the headlines after he joined DP Ruto’s Tangatanga camp. In the same line, the senator claimed that Kenyans were tired with being ruled with the Kenyattas and that a change in leadership was mandatory.
The senator said the Kenyatta’s had been in power for too long. With Mzee Jomo Kenyatta’s tenure of 15 years and President Uhuru’s 10-year presidency, the senator added that Kenyans were already fed up.
Speaking on Thursday, December 31, at the homecoming ceremony of newly elected Msambweni MP Feisar Bader, Mr Mwaura said many Kenyans were also available to step up for the presidency.
In response, Babu Owino has hit out on the Senator asking him to respect the president. He says that the president has done a lot for the senator. In the post shared on his Facebook page, Babu wrote that the senator should be thankful to the president for raising him from grass to grace.
He further revealed that it was the president who funded Mwaura’s wedding to a tune of 10 million. In addition, he even paid for their honeymoon in Zanzibar.

“Huyu mzungu lazima a heshimu President Uhuru (this white must respect President Uhuru). It’s President Uhuru Kenyatta who Nominated you. He funded your wedding at a cost of 10 million and paid for your honeymoon to Zanzibar where you manufactured your second born,” Babu wrote.
Babu Owino has been a strong defender of the handshake and recently of the president. He has been heard on more than one occasion saying that the president is too young to retire.
