Dr. Ofweneke is a man of many talents. His career life cuts across comedy, MCeeing corporate gigs, singing, and acting, and also doubles up as a motivational speaker.

The many different roles have seen him being one of the most sought-after talents in the entertainment scene in Kenya.

Apart from the diverse hats, he is an entrepreneur at heart. He co-owns a digital marketing and advertising agency called Defa Media Group and is also the CEO of Ofufu Media. He specializes in branding, events, and artist management.

Career Life

Dr. Ofweneke made his mark in the entertainment industry when he landed his first radio job at Milele FM. His wit and charm, coupled with his Nigerian accent made him stand out from the rest of the Kenyan comedians has given him an edge over his competitors. He quickly scored opportunities in the entertainment industry and has pushed the envelope since then.

While working at Milele FM, he got invited to MC at weddings and churches, which gave him a name in the entertainment scene. That’s how he landed big corporate events and gigs in the city that elevated his portfolio and rate card.

His Early Life and Education

Ofweneke, whose real name is Sande Bush, was born on 17th January 1991 at Pumwani Hospital. His father and mother separated when he was just a week old and was brought up with his step-mom whom he loves dearly.

Growing up, Sande had it rough and his father took him to his grandmother’s place in Mbotela to complete his University.

He attended Aga Khan High School before moving to Mwea Boys High School, where he sat for his KCSE exams. His high schoolmates always regarded him as the class clown and it was not a surprise when he ended up.

Marriage Life

The comedian, now a father of 3, was previously married to gospel singer Nicah (Veronica Wanja.    They were together as a happy couple for several years before calling it quits owing to irreconcilable differences. 

Nicah accused the comedian & TV host of physical abuse while her ex-wife was allegedly called out for infidelity.

The two however have maintained a cordial relationship for the sake of their children. Ofweneke has officially moved on and is now married to Christine, whom they welcomed baby number three.

His eye is on becoming the first African stand-up comedian to host the BET AWARDS, and with all that he has achieved so far, one cannot wait to see what he serves us next.
