Embakasi East Member of Parliament Hon Babu Owino says that Central Kenya is safe with BBI than with Ruto Presidency.
Babu Owino’s sentiments are a response to Senator Irungu Kang’ata who had earlier claimed, in a letter to the president, BBI’s unpopularity in Central Kenya.
The Senate Majority Whip in a 6-page letter to President Uhuru, warned of the impending opposition of the BBI document in the president’s backyard.
Senator Kang’ata asked the president to take charge of marketing BBI in Mt Kenya region, saying the current campaign is uncoordinated.
“I pray we make urgent remedial efforts to avoid such an outcome (no vote),” Kang’ata says in the letter.
Hon Babu Owino, an avid supporter of the handshake and the BBI had a different opinion on the same. In a post shared on his Facebook account, he wrote how Central Kenya is much safer with BBI than with DP Ruto’s presidency.
He further alludes that its corruption that has impoverished Central Kenya and accuses the Deputy President William Ruto of the same.
“Central Kenya is safe with BBI than with Ruto Presidency. It is the massive corruption that has contributed to poverty in central Kenya. And the chef of corruption is Ruto. Kikuyus get angry when you make them poor while Luos get angry when you disrespect them,” he penned down.
