The renowned city spiritual figure and lead Bishop of the Jubilee Christian Church, JCC, Bishop Allan Kiuna has passed away. He met his fate on Tuesday, July 9, at the AAR Hospital while undergoing treatment. Kiuna was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma Cancer in 2018/ 2019 and went public with the condition in the same year.
Multiple Myeloma cancer occurs when there are abnormal plasma cells that build up in the bone marrow and form tumors in many bones of the body.
Reverend Kathy Kiuna, spouse and now widow, shared a statement on her social media platforms.
“As a church and family, we appreciate the outpouring of love and support, especially from our church family. We kindly request some privacy as we go through this challenging time of mourning and reflection.”
Bishop Kiuna’s Journey With Cancer
In 2023, Bishop Allan announced his victorious battle against the dreadful disease. This is after spending a year in the United States for treatment. The Bishop during a thanksgiving ceremony at his Nairobi church, disclosed that the cost of his treatment exceeded USD 3 Million (KSh459,900,000).
He recounted his tough medical journey, as he embarked to the US in December 2022, while already battling illness. Despite facing insurmountable challenges, he declared himself cancer-free, standing before his congregation full of gratitude.
He made it public that he did not foot a cent of the humongous medical bill. The entire sum, according to him, was “divinely provided for”. “For the one year that I was in the US, my treatment cost $3 million, and I didn’t remove one coin from my pocket because the God of heaven provided. I did not call anyone”.
The Thanksgiving ceremony was attended by who-is-who. Among the dignitaries were first lady, Rachel Ruto, and Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s wife, Pastor Dorcas, among other notable politicians.
His History with Jubilee Christian Church
He founded the JCC on January 17, 1999, with less than ten congregants. The church has since grown in leaps and bounds to 15 local branches and 5 international churches, across Kenya, South Africa, and the United States.
Bishop Kiuna attributes his divination and success to the mentorship he received from his mentor, Evangelist Teresa Wairimu of Faith Evangelistic Ministry.
The Kiunas have courted controversy on many occasions. Their wealth and lavish lifestyle have been subjects of much speculation. They, however, have always defended their extravagant lifestyle and prosperity gospel as the will of God, for everyone to walk in abundance and power.
The Kiunas are estimated at KSh 5 billion and own a private jet, a palatial home in Runda with all ultra-modern finishes and interiors, a fleet of luxury cars, and memberships to the most exotic clubs.
Bishop Allan will be remembered as a leader of leaders, a life coach, and a visionary. He is also a published and prolific author (Living in Financial Distinction, Finishing Strong, Anointed for the Marketplace). He also co-authored two books with his wife and fellow spiritual figure Rev. Kathy Kiuna. The books are Marriage Works and Appointment with Destiny.
