David Osiany, a former Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) in the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Investment, celebrated the birthday of his wife specifically.
He organized a surprise birthday party for his wife, Syombua, which has him described as the “king of surprises.”
The Birthday Suprise
The father of two on Sunday, October 6, secretly invited Syombua’s friends, who helped plan the event.
He asked his wife to go for a hair and nail revamp as he stayed back to prepare the kids and sort out a few things.
He made a list of a few of Syombua’s friends and reached out to them to get together that evening. No one was to speak to her or even check up on her.
Their family friend Edith Osoro Ombasa went with Syombua to ensure she was tightly supervised and well sorted.
David called up Kate Mayeye, the proprietor of African Fabric & Designs Kenya, asking for a masterpiece for his wife’s big day.
She had to figure out the correct size of Syombua had added slight baby weight.
She only had 2 days to deliver the gown and make it. It fit the birthday girl like a glove. Kate called Syombua to say she had a birthday gift for her. She was so elated and wouldn’t smell anything.
The Delivery and Shock
Steve Ombasa, a family friend, called her to set up a couple date, for the two couples, and she fell for it.
At the venue, the shock was beautifully wild. They drove right into her gift, then walked her to the ‘restaurant. That is where they were to supposedly take tea, only for her to walk into a ballroom full of some of her closest friends and family.
“The tears! The shock! The laughters! The sighs!! I watched each reaction with true elation. And in that moment, I knew that I had made my best friend happy, and that joy on her face gave me joy. Again, Happy birthday my wife and friend. Here’s to many more. Now you know who is the king of surprises my wife. Don’t try this at home.” He wrote in part.
The couple wore matching pink outfits which were designed by African Fabrics & Designs Kenya.
The highlight of the day was when Osiany gifted Syombua a Mercedes Benz. The former Nairobi University student leader shared pictures of her looking all surprised and teary as family and friends surrounded her.
Twitter Drama Over Secret Lover
Mid-last year, Osiany trended for the wrong reasons. An X (formerly Twitter) political blogger, accused him of dumping her after a “good time.”
The blogger, a former journalist, revealed he had been in a relationship with the politician for a while and even has evidence of the ordeal.
In a swift response to protect his reputation, Mr. Osiany warned the blogger against defamation or else she’ll be served by his legal team.
The blogger revealed that she had indeed been served in light of her allegations. She seemed not cowed and dared Mr Osiany’s lawyers to go ahead.
