Gachagua’s First Public Appearance Since Impeachment

Former DP Rigathi Gachagua is a man on a mission. Several days after his infamous impeachment, he’s back on the road like he never left. Contradicting the expectations of many, he has kept his jovial spirit despite the career-changing tackle.

The former deputy and his wife Dorcas, received a heroic welcome in Kirinyaga following the swearing of his succesor Kindiki Kithure.

Gachagua was attending a funeral service on Saturday, November, 02 on his home turf. The appearance came a day after the new Deputy President Kindiki who was sworn in on Friday, November 1st.

Like the politician he is, he took a swipe at Members of Parliament and President William Ruto in his address. He asked members of the August house to move with the same speed they used on him to address the pressing issues facing Kenyans.

His spouse, Pastor Dorcas Rigathi, always had his husband’s back. She noted that despite their exit from the second-in-command office, Gachagua still deserved the titles he had.

“Service and respect come at a cost. Gachagua paid his price and we are not wrong to call Gachagua Deputy President and honorable.” Pastor Rigathi noted.

Fight Illicit Brew in Mount Kenya

Gachagua also urged the government to continue with the fight he had wielded against illicit brews, particularly in his backyard of Mt Kenya.

According to him, citizens still have faith in him, and has since been approached by several people on the program to fight the vice. Many are skeptical about the resurgence of illegal alcohol in the mountain region.

“We Have No Problem With The President..”

Opening up his heart, Gachagua maintains that he holds no grudge against the President. He added that he is ready to give President Ruto space to fulfill the promises they made to Kenyans.

“Hata rais hatuna shida na yeye sisi. Tunataka tumpee nafasi hizo miaka tatu, zile ahadi alialipeana atomize (We have no problem with the President. We want to give him time for the remaining three years to fulfil the promises he made, Gachagua stated.
