Kamene Goro Age Career And Family

Kamene is one of the most successful memorable radio presenters, TV host, and social media influencer.

Her captivating candid personality, stunning looks, and unapologetic approach to issues make her a darling to listeners, viewers, and fans. She has risen to become a prominent figure in the Kenyan media industry.

Kamene, 32, grew up in South C before the family moved to Woodley and later settled down in Karen.

Family and Education

Kamene comes from a rather wealthy family which explains her influence. Her mother is a top director at The Multichoice Talent Factory while her father is one of the leading structural engineers in the country.

She’s the middle child with 2 siblings. Her elder brother Wambugu is almost 2 years older than her and her younger sister’s name is Natasha.

She schooled at Kerstel Manor for her kindergarten before moving to Rusinga International School where she finished her A2 level, year thirteen.

The bubbly influencer and radio presenter proceeded to the University of Nairobi (Parklands) where she undertook a Bachelor’s in Law. Her first love was media but her parents could hear none of it.

Fun Facts About Kamene

  • Kamene became one of the youngest news anchors on TV at only 21 years old.
  • Her mother set up Kenya Film School and was awarded the presidential Order of Golden Heart (OGH) title for her immense contribution to the community.
  • She got 3 scholarships to study abroad but her father insisted on the University of Nairobi.
  • Her move from NRG Radio was blocked citing breach of contract. She and Andrew Kibe were barred for three months before they began their new jobs.
  • Kamene has an undergraduate degree in law, an LLB, and plans to have a PhD by the time she hits 40.

Work Experience

Despite being a professional lawyer, Kamene doesn’t have a vast experience in the law field. She worked for the late Peter Simani, one of the most brilliant lawyers in the country, as a paralegal.

Unfortunately, Peter lost his life at the Westgate terror attack. Kamene left the field because she had lost someone she considered her mentor.

At 20, almost immediately, she got an opportunity to intern at Ebru TV. She rose from an intern to a daily primetime news anchor and weekday politics and current affairs host slot. She remained there for 9 years.

Before coming back to Ebru TV as the Head of News where she only did a year, she had left the country for years.

Her NRG Radio experience was what excited her the most as she got to live her dream of being a radio host. She joined Radio Africa Group’s (RAG) Kiss 100 alongside Andrew Kibe, Jalang’o, and later Oga Obinna.

She left Kiss 100 in 2023.

Personal Life

After quitting her job at Ebru TV for the first time, she moved to Arusha, Tanzania with her then-husband.

This was much to the dismay of her parents who never accepted him. Her relationship with them soured.

As fate would have it, she was left devastated after her husband broke up with her via a WhatsApp call. She returned to Kenya and joined Ebru TV again but this time as the Head of News.

She tied the knot again to DJ Bonez in an exclusive wedding ceremony on April 20, 2023. They became official two years ago but they knew each other six or seven years ago.

She is currently a social media influencer and brand ambassador for several brands and businesses. She is also an events and corporate MC. Her net worth is in the tens of millions.
