Deputy President William Ruto held a roadside rally at Kitengela, Kajiado County today where he was welcomed by thousands of his supporters.
This was one of his series of tours that he made this week after visiting Kisii and Uasin Gishu counties earlier.
The DP toured the Kisii region on Friday 11th September, despite violent protests that rocked the town ahead of his visit. He condemned the protests alleging they were sponsored in order to disrupt his visit where he was supposed to conduct a Harambee to Kisii bodaboda riders.

“Those misusing the security apparatus of the country must stop. Police officers and provincial administrators must be respected and let free to serve Kenyans,” Ruto said.
He further accused Inspector-General of Police Hilary Mutyambai of leaning into politics in a way to “meet certain political goals”.
“Those public servants thinking that they can use the police to intimidate and coerce Kenyans must know that their days are numbered. If they would like to join politics, Ruto added, they must stop hiding behind the police and quit the public service job.,” he added.
He urged those behind the alleged sponsored protests to stop hiding behind public service and face him in active politics claiming he is ready for them.
On Saturday 12th, 2020 the DP visited his home county Uasin Gishu where he attended a church service alongside other leaders most of them who were Luhya leaders allied to him in the Jubilee party.
He was seen putting on special church attires while at the same time holding a cross. He later addressed the congregation before he left accompanied by fellow politicians.
