Legendary actor Mohammed Tajiri of the famous TV show Vitimbi is dead.
Mohammed Tajiri was better known by his stage name Mzee Makanyaga as used in his acting died on Tuesday 27th and will be buried on Wednesday 28th according to the Muslim traditions.
The venue of the burial will be at the Kariakor Muslim Cemetery in Nairobi as confirmed by a close member of the family.
Mr Makanyaga was born in 1935 in Pangani and took his last bow at the age of 85 after a blissful acting career that spanned for almost a decade.
According to a family member, Mzee died at his home in Majengo area, Nairobi County.

Mzee Makanyaga was described as a diverse actor who could easily play different roles so perfectly. He was loved by many who watched him in the Vitimbi show back in the years.
Gibson Mbugua, of the Vioja Mahakamani drama series, said that the late Makanyaga will be remembered for his starring roles in the various programs he was involved in.
Makanyaga and Gibson were among a group of prominent actors who formed the Darubini dancing group which specialised in traditional songs and even won global accolades for their shows.
Mzee Makanyaga featured in various television programmes at KBC. The shows included Vitimbi, Zuberi, Chipukizi, Darubini, and Vioja Mahakamani. However, he will be remembered by many for his role in the Vitimbi show.
The Comedians Society of Kenya through its chairman Ken Waudo has issued a statement and said they celebrate Makanyaga and the moments during his lifetime.
