Rihanna has proved time and again, that she is not going anywhere despite taking a break from music. The mother of two, yesterday, added yet another “baby” in her already entrepreneurial catalog: Fenty Hair.
Rihanna is a certified style and beauty icon -for nearly two decades. She has set the trends with her headline-grabbing hairstyles and color- including the pixie and maroon hair which had fans all over the world imitate. The latest addition is an expansion to her Fenty Beauty brand where she partners with LVMH. She has been spotted rocking her natural short hair in the Big Apple since last week. This is in a bid to promote the new line that premieres officially on June 13.
“Hair has always been very personal to me- my hairstyles have been markers of my evolution and growth over the years, so launching Fenty Hair was something I was really passionate about,” Rihanna explained in the official press release.
The Fenty Hair Collection is a new vegan, sulfate-free, and silicone-free line. Each product in the Fenty Hair range contains Replenicore-5, a proprietary complex with amino acids, hydrolyzed vegetable protein, and antioxidant-rich green tea.
So far, the collection includes 9 primary hair care and styling products: one shampoo, one conditioner, one deep conditioner, one treatment product, four styling products, and one edge-styling tool. For her, healthy hair is the core mission of the line. She aims to provide products that fortify hair to create head-turning hairstyles.
Fenty Beauty, Rihanna’s company’s flagship brand, was launched in 2017. She shook up the make-up industry with 40 foundation shades and 91 products. This move made her shoot up the financial ladder almost instantly- to a billionaire status.
Buzzing New Hairline
To create buzz for the official unveiling of the new line on June 13th, she posted a promotional video of herself at miniature a Fenty Hair store. She is seen rocking a maroon trench coat and short, curly blonde hair complete with a giant smile to the liking of her adoring fans. Flashing images of all different kinds of hairstyles were displayed on screen and the singer strutted through.
RiRi, as she’s commonly referred to, has donned short hair before, but now she’s going completely natural. This further cements her beauty icon status, giving women a new-found confidence in their natural hair. What better way to show off your products than modeling them yourself?
The new Fenty line promises to work for any hair- straight, curly, or frizzled. Her latest pivot into growing her beauty empire seems to be another major move. This comes a few months after her “rival” Beyonce, ventured into the hair business with her line Cècred which features 8 different products. It includes- shampoos, hair oils, and moisturizers. The race for hair business seems to be on.
