Meta founder and one of the world’s richest men, Mark Zuckerberg, has created the world’s first Porsche minivan. Funny, right?
Breaking the news on his social media platforms, the father of three said his wife, Priscilla Chan, wanted a minivan for their growing family. She also didn’t want something very conventional.
“New side quest. Priscilla wanted a minivan, so I’ve been designing something I’m pretty sure should exist: a Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT Minivan.”
The couple enlisted West Coast Customs to create the stretched Cayenne, complete with sliding doors, for the Zuckerberg family. The Meta CEO explained that the custom Cayenne was a joint project between Porsche and the renowned custom car shop West Coast Customs.
Zuckerberg decided to order himself a 911 GT3 Touring in the matching color for a “his and hers” look.
A Gift to Himself?
Just recently, Mark Zuckerberg has officially surpassed Jeff Bezos to claim the position of the world’s second-richest person.
According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Zuckerberg’s net worth has risen to $206.2 billion, edging past Bezos, whose wealth stands at $205.1 billion.
He now trails only Tesla’s Elon Musk, who maintains a significant lead with nearly $50 billion more.
This remarkable boost is largely attributed to Meta’s strong performance, where Zuckerberg owns a 13% stake. The company’s stock has soared by almost 70% this year, driven by investor excitement and its strategic focus on artificial intelligence (AI) development.
Mark and Priscilla’s Relationship
Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan’s relationship began in 2003 when they met at a Harvard fraternity party.
Their connection was instant, it was love at first sight. They moved in together in 2010 and eventually married in 2012. They wedded just a day after Zuckerberg launched Facebook.
The wedding was reportedly a surprise event for friends and family, who thought they were attending a graduation party for her.
The couple share three daughters—Max, August, and Aurelia.
It has been over 12 years of marriage and continued support towards each other’s personal and professional endeavors.
Who is Priscilla Chan?
Chan is a professional pediatrician, and an undergraduate of the University of California, San Francisco. Her passion for helping others extends beyond her medical practice. Together with her husband, they found a way to make her live her passion and purpose beyond the hospital.
She left her job as a pediatrician at the San Francisco General Hospital in 2017.
The couple founded the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative in 2015. It is a philanthropic organization focused on health, education, and scientific research. In 2016, they also founded CZI Biohub, a medical research center for research scientists from numerous colleges.
Currently, Priscilla Chan serves as the Co-CEO of the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative and is also on the board of directors of The Just Trust.
