Media personality Amina Abdi Rabar has called it quits at Capital FM radio station.
Her exit was so quiet that it was not announced and neither did she tell her listeners and fans that she was leaving the station she had worked for almost a decade.
Amina Abdi had been hosting the morning show alongside Fareed Khimani until recently when Amina went missing on air. In recent weeks, Fareed Khimani has been hosting the morning show alone. He further disclosed that there will be a new co-host who will be joining him soon.
“Amina Abdi will not be returning and I will be joined soon by a new co-host. She has gone to do big and better things,” Fareed said.
Amina being an active social media user did not either tell her social media followers that she would be quitting the show. It was left to her fans to speculate on the same and which now turns out to be true.
Her social media pages, however, showed that she had pulled down almost everything to do with the media house only leaving the promotional materials she promotes and the Friday night show she hosts on NTV, The Trend.
Just a month ago, another long time presenter Miano Muchiri left. But unlike Amina, Muchiri said he was leaving the radio station after almost a decade of service at the station.
“The time has come to say goodbye to radio I would love it if you tuned in tomorrow one last time, ” he told his listeners then.
The station owned by city billionaire Chris Kirubi has seen a mass exodus of presenters in the recent past. Among those to have said goodbyes are former presenters Maqbul Mohammed, Anita Nderu Cess Mutungi and Sharon Mundia late last year.
Others to have left the station are Web Editor and lifestyle writer/photographer Susan Wong, who resigned in January 2019.
