A Nairobi-based designer, Bolo, has held what social media critics have hailed as the biggest traditional wedding of the year 2024.
The success of the event is why it is still being celebrated a few weekends later. The event trended on social media and earned designer Bolo Bespoke fifteen minutes of fame.
Bolo broke the internet after throwing a lavish ruracio for his lover Mueni. The all-VIP event was held in Ukambani where Mueni hails from.
The Grand Ruracio
The event’s finesse and extravagance caught many off guard and were impressed.
The theme of the ruracio was emerald green for the groom’s men who wore Nigerian-like agbada outfits with matching pants and hats coupled with ornamental walking sticks. The bride’s maids donned red gowns spiced with traditional accessories and flawless make-up.
Nadia Mukami & Arrow Bwoy teamed up to bring a befitting performance. Other musicians like Prince Indah were in attendance also followed suit.
Music at the event was culturally curated and diversified to represent both the groom’s and the bride’s cultural backgrounds.
The viral event in Ukambani brought together top Kenyan celebrities among them Prince Indah, Jalang’o, Bahati & Diana Marua, Wuod Fibi, and actresses Nyaboke Moraa and Sandra Dacha.
Highlight of The Event
Mama Ida Odinga stole the show when she landed in a chopper, taking the attendees by surprise. She was wearing a golden outfit with matching accessories.
Gospel singer Kasolo took Mama Ida’s hand and led her to the dance floor. The former Prime Minister’s wife is captured making merry with the guests and enjoying every moment of the event.

The designer, owner of Bolo Bespoke Suits, dresses the who-is-who in the city. The two shared major throwback photos of their humble beginnings when all they had was love and a dream.
Asked what’s the secret to their unending love, they said love and commitment have no timeline and their journey is a testament to that.

Mueni admits to having seen his potential despite a seemingly bleak and unknown future. She chose to stick around, a decision that has finally paid off.
Their journey is still on as they mark a new chapter this December, during the white wedding. Bolo promises to host an elegant and grand white wedding that, in his words, “the world has never seen.”
His sentiments seem believable coming against the backdrop of the lovebird’s lavish ruracio ceremony.
