A Kenyan man, Bradley Marongo, is going viral since he appeared on social media last week. The tallest man in Kenya, recently revealed that he had never worn shoes in his entire life. Marongo who hails from Kangemi, explained that he only wears open shoes (sandals) since merchandise stores do not stock shoes that fit him.
Bradley stands at an impressive 8 feet, towering over everyone in his daily interactions. Marongo, now known popularly as ‘Goliath Gen Z,’ is a well-known figure in Kangemi. This is after he became a familiar face during the Finance Bill protests where police were spotted talking to him in disbelief.
“I went viral during the maandamano when someone posted a video of me. Since then, I’ve become a familiar figure, and I’ve been getting recognition ever since,” he said in an interview on Citizen TV on Friday.

Opening up about his everyday life, he admits it’s not easy navigating around. He faces stares due to his physical appearance, most notably his height and build. Easy things like getting a matatu seat or going through a door are struggles for him. Getting the right clothes and shoes has been an uphill task and that made him adopt the “cargo shorts and jersey” look which he finds more comfortable and functional.
A Brand Endorsement Deal
His trending news has brought him good tidings as he just secured a lucrative deal with Bespoke City, a few days ago. The deal was made public by content creator Director Trevor.
The Nairobi luxury clothing brand will provide Bradley with fully customized, Goliath-inspired cloth sizes. In the same breath, Bradley was also gifted a brand new phone by an electronics shop in Nairobi after he sealed the first deal.
Another Goliath
Isaac Wekesa, another Goliath, came out to challenge Bradley to a height duel. The man from Bungoma, wants the two of them to compete for the crown of “Kenya’s tallest man”.
“Haniwezi, he is short, I am tall. I would love to meet with him, we see who is taller. ” he is seen bragging in a YouTube video.
Isaac wears number 52 (Bradley wears 48). Isaac is 8.4 ft tall, two inches taller than his rival Marongo. The 30-year-old is a bodaboda rider and also does menial jobs to feed his family.
