President Ruto’s administration’s signature pledge, the Hustler Fund, is finally here after receiving greenlight from Cabinet.
The loans range from a minimum of Ksh.500 to as high as Ksh.50,000 at an 8 percent pro-rated interest rate.
Registration
The application is available through the USSD code *254# and/or the Hfund Mini App.
To apply for the funds, therefore, Kenyans will be required to sign up for the fund through the USSD code or the mobile app.

To apply through the USSD, dial *254# on your phone where you will be required to accept the Terms and Conditions then enter your mobile money pin.
Upon completing these steps, an SMS will be sent to notify the applicant of their successful registration and the loan limit assigned.
The applicant will be notified via SMS in the event of a failed registration.
USSD Application Steps
• Dial the USSD code which is *254#.
• Select the loan request option to check your limit, interest, and loan period.
• Enter the loan amount according to your assigned limit and press OK to continue
• Confirm loan details as displayed to continue
• Enter Mobile Money pin number
• Receive SMS notifications on Loan allocation with relevant loan information.
If successful, the borrower will receive 95% of the total amount in their mobile money wallet.
The remaining 5% shall be saved through the mandatory Hustler Saving Scheme to be accessed later.
The savings scheme is split into short-term and long-term savings. For the short term, only 5% will go into savings while for the long term, 70% is saved to be accessible after retiring as per NSSF.
