Manchester United beat Brentford 3-0 in the English Premier League on Tuesday to take all the three crucial points in their last game at Old Trafford.
It was a strong performance from United as goals from captain Bruno Fernandes, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Raphael Varane ensured a comprehensive win and clean sheet at home.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s 61-minute penalty extended United’s lead before Varane scored from a corner to seal the deal for Ralf Rangnick’s men.
After the game, Ronaldo appeared to send out a strong message to United fans as he appeared to say – ” I am not finished” to a television camera during a post-match lap of honor with his teammates after the convincing victory.
The Portugal superstar scored his 18thgoal in the Premier League and 24th of the season across all the competition.
The goal against Brentford places him just behind Salah (22) and Son (19).
He has scored more home goals (14) than any other Premier League player this season and is only 2 goals away from hitting 700 goals for clubs.
His “I’m not finished finished” message comes amid speculations that the talisman might be on his way out after the season.
Ralf Rangnick, however, has backed him to play an important role under Erik Ten Hag.
