Trevor Ombija, 36, is a renowned Kenyan journalist who currently works for Citizen and Ramogi TV. He is the host of the Monday Report news program and presents the morning show Day Break.

Early Life and Education

He attended Anding’o Opanga Secondary School in Nyanza Province for his O-levels. Shortly after, he joined to University of Nairobi, between 2010-2013, (UON) for a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Media studies.

In 2012, when he was still a student at the University of Nairobi, China Central Television Africa (CCTV Africa) pursued him, and he joined the team as an intern acting as a station manager. During his time there, he sharpened his communication skills which shaped his entire career, making him one of the most sought-after media personalities in Kenya.

He continued on an upward trajectory when NTV made him a senior prime-time anchor plus an opportunity to work as an associate producer. After five years of service, he moved to S.K. Macharia’s Royal Media Services (RMS), where he hosts the Monday Night Show on Citizen.
