DP Ruto’s candidate Feisal Abdallah Bader is the Member of Parliament-elect for Msambweni Constituency after triumphing over ODM’s Boga Gii.
Feisal Bader won the elections with 15, 251 votes followed closely by ODM’s Omar Boga Gii who scooped 10,444 votes. Others in the race were Abdulrahman Mahamoud (790), Marere Wamwachai (300), Khamis Lingaje (230), Bilali Charles (135), Mwakulonda Hassan (107), Mansury Kumaka (38) and Sharlet Akinyi.
The winner, Feisal Bader was DP Ruto’s prefered candidate in the by-elections. Earlier, ODM leader Raila Odinga had said that the by-election will be a test for the upcoming Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) and a lose for their candidate would mean a struggle for BBI.
Deputy President William Ruto and his Tangatanga team are all happy after the results. DP has come out to congratulate his candidate revealing why he won. According to him, democray and people’s power prevailed.
Democracy and People’s Power
“CONGRATULATION my friend Feisal Bader. Your win CEMENTS our trust in GOD and the PEOPLE. DEMOCRACY and PEOPLE POWER have TRIUMPHED,” he wrote on his Twitter account.
He also thanked his campaign team in Msambweni for delivering the victory to their candidate.
“WATU wa MSAMBWENI MUNGU awabariki. Pongezi E.Mwihaki(Gaturi), S.Wanango(Lakeview), K.Ochieng( Wendani) & all winners. To others, there’s next time.” the tweet added.
Others to congratulate Feisal on his landmark win were former Kakamega senator Dr Boni Khalwale and Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula among many others.
In his statement, Khalwale claims that in Feisal’s win, “first child of the Hustler Nation is born.”
He attributes the win to God’s mercy according to his Twitter post.
“There is a wideness in God’s mercy like the wideness of the sea. And there is a kindness in his justice which more than liberty. Thank u, everyone. Allahu Akbar!” Khalwale wrote.
The Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula, on the other hand, says that Feisal won the elections because of agenda and reason over ODM’s insults.
“Congratulations Hon Feisal Abdalla Bader on your election as a member of Parliament for the Musambweni constituency. Reason has triumphed over abuses, insults, and negative and unhelpful displays of political bad manners. We must insist on good political hygiene.” he said.
