- Wiring Certificates (Submit any time after issuance of application reference number but before construction of the electricity network)
Application
The application process is divided into three steps; application, quotation, and construction and metering.
In 2021, Kenya Power application went digital allowing customers to apply for electricity online. The online application is done through the ‘My Power’ app that can be downloaded on Google Play Store and Apple Store.

To apply, submit the applicable documents via the portal. After application, one receives an instant reference which one can use to track their application.
Quotation
After applying, you will receive a quotation based on your specifications in your inquiry. The quote you get from Kenya Power after applying for an electricity connection will depend on the materials required for you to be connected.
“The cost given contains the costs of electric lines, electricity poles, labor, and transportation,” said Engineer Kennedy Owino of KPLC.
A quotation is valid for ninety (90) days within which payment can be made via KPLC offices, Mpesa, or any of their partners.
Construction and Metering
KPLC will obtain necessary consent where applicable to lay electricity supply lines and thereafter start construction and metering within the following timelines;
