Deputy President William Ruto has questioned the academic credentials of his rival presidential candidate, Raila Odinga alleging that they can’t be proven.
Ruto said this while defending the Nairobi County UDA gubernatorial aspirant Senator Johnson Sakaja whose degree saga continues to dominate news headlines.
The DP said that Raila Odinga’s academic credentials are questionable and not provable. He went ahead and dared his competitors to show and prove that Raila had valid papers.
“Kama kuna mtu ako na certificate ambayo haijulikani ni candidate wenu wa Rais wa Azimio. Kabla hamjatuambia mambo mengi, tuonyesheni candidate wenu wa Azimio, wa Rais alisoma wapi na alisoma na nani na mwalimu wake alikua nani,” Ruto said.
While defending Hon Sakaja, DP accused his former Jubilee party of being behind Sakaja’s troubles. He also revealed that the “Deep State” and “System” has made calls to State House, Uganda to try and stop Sakaja from vying.
Speaking during a political rally on Thursday, The DP drummed up support for Sakaja, adding that he has valid papers.
“Johnson Sakaja amesoma na makaratasi yake inajulikana,” Ruto said.
DP has asked his competitors to let the IEBC do their work uninterrupted.
He further expressed confidence in the upcoming August 9 election, where he said they would win resoundingly.
“Nyinyi watu ya Jubilee tukutaneni kwa debe. Sakaja atakua kwa debe na tutawaonyesha kivumbi,” He added.
